Most Needed
Kennel Attendant
Kennel attendants are the heart of our daily operations — feeding, cleaning, exercising, and socializing our dogs. This role is the foundation of every other volunteer opportunity at DDR.
- Must be 18 years or older
- Commit to one shift per week for 12 consecutive weeks
- Must be in good health and able to lift over 40 lbs
- Must be willing and able to work with large breeds, especially bully breeds
- Prior experience handling large breed dogs preferred
- Veterinary or kennel experience preferred
- Weekday availability needed
Adoption Events
Help showcase our dogs at adoption events across metro Detroit — meeting potential adopters, answering questions, and representing the DDR mission in the community.
- Must first complete 12 consecutive weeks as a kennel attendant
- Must be 18 years or older
- Comfortable working with the public and large breed dogs
- Must be willing and able to work with large breeds, especially bully breeds
- Flexible weekend availability helpful
